The history of Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 1925 when David LeCoultre agreed to a merger with Edmond Jaeger, previously the sole supplier of movements to the Cartier watch company. This led the new company to be crowned Jaeger-LeCoultre for all legal and practical purposes.
